A warm winter jacket
we all need
when the wind howls
from the south
stirring up the sea
with magnificent displays
of salt spray
battering rock platforms
temperatures dropping

But i can go there
to see the display
all rugged up in a beautiful jacket
donated generously
from “Threads Together “
keeping my body warm
and my heart
from kindness
after a disaster

So much of the human heart
shared to bring us back
showing how clearly
where there is darkness
there’s also light

This winter I’ll be cosy
with a warm woollen blanket
knitted and crocheted
by kind hands
and my jacket
with deep pockets
I’ll feel that care
