Vision
Stephen Chinnock
3 August 2020
My eyes are blurry
Much of the time
Takes sea salt air
To open them up
Seeing time immemorial
Blessed by the great splashes
On the rock platform of life
My ears don’t hear
All that is said
But the sounds of nature
Reverberate in my head
Allowing moments of bliss
Like the call of the Glossy Black Cockatoos
On a headland overlooking the sea
The waves surging in the background
My nostrils detect
The smell of the sea
Especially the umani
Of great deposits of seaweed
And the eucalyptus bush
Clears the sinus
Breathing again!
A Vision of a world
That I love so much!
