Tender hearts
Stephen Chinnock
5 May 2020
Tender hearts abide widely
In the twisted reality of now
Unexpected donors of gifts
To those who have lost a lot
Never asking twice
They say I gift it to you
For the roll of the dice
On the inevitable table of life
My numbers rolled well
I’m grateful for my luck
But if your numbers rolled badly
I’ll stand by your side
Inside of my mind
Is arising a new vision
Of humanity working
Along with each other
Facing terrible dilemmas
But saying NO
We can do better
Than greed and exploitation
Let’s all of us who care
Hold hands around the planet
Take back senseless control
And celebrate togetherness
It is just one little blue and green planet
Out there in the universe
Let’s not let it go defunct
Ending up as cosmic dust!
