in active listening
reaching out to hear
all of the stories
needing to be told
of that NYE

And then she took the mirror
of that very intense moment
in our histories
dropped it on the floor
scattering into a myriad
of reflective shards

In each shining piece
seeing faces
hearing those images speaking
creating a juxtaposition of
explosions in that space
my head reels
from that visual work
in words so accurately describing
complexities in a brief time

A wonderful recorded
piece of history
offering opportunities
reflecting on how
we came through it together
each in their own way!
