Be surprising
That I’ve been reading
Sublime poems
Written by hermits
In the mountains
In ancient times

Our current isolation
Is nothing to compare
To a man who lived
So simply
Without a care
For worldly goods

Sublime focus
On now
The river running by
The stones at the bottom
Of the pond
Empty space
In the mind

Letting go
Connections to material goods
Revealing universal connections
Where there is
No inside or out

You can take on
As a companion
A monk on a mountain
Seeing the stream of life
Through his wide opened eyes!
