When the fire came
Taking our homes away
The spirit of the Phoenix
Demanded an expression
A release of the pain
And despair

So I started writing daily
Putting out my feelings
Raw and open
People responded
By saying
That's exactly
How we are feeling

I put out a call
For others to write
In came a flood
Of wonderful expression
In words never written before

It's become a circle of conversation
Of banter and bouncing
Off each other's thoughts
It will have to continue now
In the era of isolation
There'll be no other option
For communication
