Where do I stand?
Stephen Chinnock

Where do I stand
At the moment
With the threat
Of this disease
I’m old enough
At seventy two
To be in the group
Most at risk
Add to that
My condition
Of chronic pulmonary disease
I’ll go out in a flash
If that virus hits me now
That’s ok
I don’t mind at all
I’d rather say goodbye
Before I become old
And demented
In need of care
I’ve had a great and adventurous life
Full of fun and interesting times
Love and sorrow
In equal shares
With so many wonderful friends
I really don’t mind
If I go tomorrow
Or the day after
I’ve left my affairs in order
For another generation
To thrive
I only wonder
What world
I have left them!
