The human condition

Painters , please paint
Potters, continue to build
Knitters, please weave
Sculptures we need in place
Poets and story tellers
Tell us as much as you can
Photographers please shoot
Your images of this world

Put these pursuits
Back into the curriculum
Of our dumbed down schools
Bring back colour
To our young folk

And Johnno if you’re listening
Get them to drum and sing
In your wonderful way
To celebrate learning
Through the arts

Without such expressions
Of understanding life
On this little blue planet
We’ll be missing the point!
