Fearing others didn’t understand
Your role in our lives
But you have that role
So fundamental
To our survival

You dear monk
Are an icon
Of kindness
Dedication
Giving in times of need

There is a lot
Of that kindness
Circulating about
You’d be pleased
That many
Hold on to love
Of fellow mankind

But not all
The devil of the dark side
Is also in evidence
Putting us at risk
Unnecessary at best

So stay there with me
Give me guidance
And support
Brotherly love
Will carry me through!
