Am I alone?
Stephen Chinnock
14 August 2020
In feeling a second wave of grief
So far down the track
Of a very difficult year
When balls are bouncing off the walls
Of a strange reality
I want to teach a young man
To cook and manage life
Better than me at that age
My mistakes were multiple
At that tender age
Now that I’m so such older
Unexpectedly
Where is yesterday?
Time is a strange dimension
Passing by in a flash
What advice can you give
When learning is about making mistakes
Go on my boys make lots of mistakes
Learn consequences from that
Let’s hope you learn wisdom
Beyond mine
Of how the world works
And if you fault
I’ll be there with love
To pick you up!
